WHAT IS SHIP? We are schools, kids, seniors, farmers, neighbors and main streets coming together to encourage healthier eating, being more active, and living tobacco-free.

City of Wabasha hosts open house.

The City of Wabasha is planning a realignment of Trunk Highway 60. Come visit with project engineers and City staff on the project Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Wabasha Are Food Share enhances its SuperShelf experience.

With SHIP support the food share purchased five more carts improving the shopper and volunteer experience.

“Prior to this project, there was no place in the Wabasha Clinic for our 18 employees and the public to access water to drink. Now that we share the hallway space in this location with the food shelf and Three Rivers Community Action, we saw an opportunity to add easier access to water through this water filling station.”

Wabasha Farmers Market had a successful season with a community supported farmers market approach.

A grand re-opening in a new location under the bridge took place and Three Rivers Community Action supported each market by operating the market’s welcome tent.

Thank you to all who participated in the Wabasha Farmers Market.

Funding for the 2025 season was donated by Wabasha Area Community Resource Center (WACRC), Wabasha Kellogg Area Community Foundation, Emplify, Rotary, and Wabasha County SHIP. Donations made as well as vendor and volunteer time spent helped to make this year’s market attendance more than double.

City of Wabasha’s Municipal Pool has an accessible fountain installed and ready for the 2026 season.

“Our project was to replace a 37-year-old water fountain located at the Wabasha Municipal Pool with a new accessible drinking fountain. With help from SHIP we were able to complete this project. The fountain is installed and will be ready for the 2026 pool season.”

Having access to healthy hydration
is important.

The potential dangers of energy drinks


In 2011, 1,499 adolescents aged 12–17 years went to the emergency room for an energy-drink–related emergency.

Some of the dangers of energy drinks include:

  • Dehydration (not enough water in your body).

  • Heart complications (such as irregular heartbeat and heart failure).

  • Anxiety (feeling nervous and jittery).

  • Insomnia (inability to sleep).
