Veggie Rx 2023 is delayed.

Due to legislative delays, we will not have confirmation of funding until August and will let participants know as soon as possible. Veggie Rx is a grant-funded nutrition program that provides free local, nutritionally dense, delicious fruits & veggies from the Wabasha Farmers Market to members of the Wabasha community! The program also includes nutritional education information, recipes, newsletters, and tasting events!

SNAP time-limited work rules start July 1. Recipients must follow time-limited work rules.

Sail implements school gardens with support from SHIP Community Partner Funding.

SAIL students constructed raised bed gardens at their school in Kellogg this year with the guidance of Michelle Houston, project lead. Designed to help students experience the work needed to grow crops and enjoy the fruits of their labor, students experienced tasting lettuce before school was out for the summer.

Amy York has been the special education director for SAIL, a Level IV behavior program in Kellogg, for the past several years. She’s also been an essential member of our SHIP Community Leadership Team (CLT).

The City of Wabasha launches wellness committee [and more] with SHIP support.

The City of Wabasha contracted with SHIP late 2022, securing a SHIP Community Partner Funding Award to obtain exercise equipment for their staff. The partnership launched with an employee-interest survey and an online assessment helped them identify their wellness priorities. A wellness team began efforts with foundational skills utilizing SHIP workplace wellness resources.

Since November 2022, we have received $24,053.00 in Community Partner Funding applications which are being processed or have been contracted.

We have $3,717.00 in Community Partner Funding remaining in our budget. Our current grant cycle runs November 2022-October 2023.
